Structure for Bridesmaid Speeches

Hi, Lisa here,

Click here to see a great solution that I found that made the writing of the bridesmaid speech that I had written, much easier and less stressful.

This is a big day for the bride, and the wedding speeches, including the bridesmaid speeches will set the tone for the wedding and the reception.  It is best to have a discussion with the other bridesmaids to see what they might be including in their speeches.

When I wrote my bridesmaid toast, I had a general idea about what I wanted to say, but I was finding it hard making sure that it was interesting. The planning phrase for your speech is important.

Start off by writing down how the first impression went for the bride when she first  met the groom. Tie that story into funny incidents that happened between yourself and the bride.

To make the bridesmaid speech more memorable, write a  short poem and weave it into your toast. Best to tell about how much you care about the bride and happy for her.

Now that you have a general idea about the body of your wedding speech, it is time to work on the opening of it. Telling about a certain quirk that the bride has will relax the wedding party and wedding guests. In other words, humor in your speech is important.

The ending of your maid of honor or bridesmaid toast should be an emotional statement about how you will always be there for the bride and groom.

I just wanted to tell you that there are many different formats for bridesmaid speeches. You have to pick one that speaks to you personally. Also, the way that you highlight different parts of your wedding speech is important also.

For instance, if you are talking about a funny incident, make sure that you  pause at the right times so that the wedding guests will have enough time to react to what you are saying. Hopefully they will laugh:)

There are general toasts that you can find online that you can alter to fit you personally. Just make sure that your toast is personalized enough.  If your speech is totally boring, the bride and groom might feel uneasy about it.

You should also spruce up your maid of honor toast by adding a few one-liners to relax the wedding party and wedding guests.

The biggest piece of advice that I can give you is to be yourself and to relax. This wedding day is the happiest day of bride’s life and she wanted you to be happy for her. Take lots of deep breathes before starting your speech on that special day and enjoy the moment. People will appreciate your wedding toast because you are putting your heart into it.

How to Plan Bridesmaid Speeches

Maid of Honor Speech Writing No Comments »

I was totally excited that I was going to be the maid of honor at my best friend’s wedding, but I had no clue about how to write bridesmaid speeches. If you want to know what really happened, I resorted to shopping instead of working on my speech.

What did I learn by putting off actually sitting down to work on my wedding toast? Don’t do what I did. Planning ahead will make the speech writing much easier.

Knowing that after hearing the beautiful vows that you will have to stand up and deliver a speech that is sincere and has lots of style is not easy. Nevertheless, I was able to write a great maid of honor speech for the wedding.

I started off by writing down the thoughts that came to mind and then I tried to piece those thoughts together.

It was not easy at first, but I read lots of guide for wedding speeches and I soon I was able to start the first draft of my speech. Just writing something down is a great start.
